Has anyone used the services of a business coach or consultant and if so was it worthwhile?

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

By the way I am UK based.

Why waste your money on a paid consultant. Instead, go to http://www.score.org/index.html and in the upper left hand corner, enter your zip code. On the next screen, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a SCORE counselor.

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors.

Has anyone used a business coach or consultant? Will I get help or scammed?

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

I have a small home-based business that I'm looking to take to the next level. Should I just plunge into business books and try to grow it myself? Or should I sink the $4000 into a one year relationship with a business consultant who is confident he can help me grow? I don't want to contract with him and find out that everything he tells me is just common sense business advice straight out of the books.

You can get books and start reading and learning. He will teach you how to function. You need to do it yourself and yes, it is commpn sense. Try a community college and there are volunteers at S.C.O.R.E. Service Corps of Retired Executives. Look for one that can relate to you. You can go to the office supply store and find organizational tools. There are also people who will come into your business and teach you organization and install systems for a whole lot less money. You can hire them for the day.

“What hair products are good?” what do you buy or not to buy!” Hair products are to be prescribed for you personally and recommended for the condition of your hair.
products change, like the trends, the bob cut, is in now, next month who knows? product flavor of the month, bob flavour of the month? I just do not work that way! It is about SUITABILITY! MODIFICATION on trends, or products…

Everybody has different hair texture, density, and elasticity. Chemically treated hair such as colored or highlighted hair has less elasticity than hair which has not been chemically processed.

Hair that has had “over exposure to sun” and many other variables must be taken into account when a professional hairstylist is recommending a product. Often the hair analysis is over looked, even by some of the professional hairstylists which I have come across over the years.

One of the most important steps prior to any HAIR service is to determine the TEXTURE and CONDITION of the HAIR.
Even before cutting, accurate analysis will determine the end result.
The structure of the hair which consists of the cuticle layer, the cortex, and the medulla, must be accurately examined prior to service, and most importantly to when it comes to “which product to use” or which product your professional stylist should be recommending.
http://www.askkarinabout.com
HAIR also CHANGES WITH AGING, and environmental changes. These changes in the hair structure especially when examining the cuticle layer or the cortex layer which holds the color is in constant change.

Many of us do know this as even our own natural color changes over the years (or months) without ever having colored it.
Hormonal changes, medications, chlorine coatings, and what we use to style the hair including styling products, or styling tools like blowers, or flat irons, also cause the condition of the hair to change frequently.

To care for your hair, and to keep it looking its utmost best, and keeping it in the best condition you can is very important if you want your hair to look and feel healthy.

Healthier hair and maintaining the hair’s integrity will also have your hair in good preparation for a chemical service such as highlighting your hair or coloring your hair.
This video and information which is a follow up to “how to shampoo and condition your hair” is to add to the recommendation of how to USE PRODUCT CORRECTLY IN THE HAIR.
http://www.askkarinabout.com
THE PROPER DISTRIBUTION of product and the many responses I have had as to which products to use or what I would “recommend” or “prescribe” now explains to many, why I do not recommend any one hair product over another.
I prefer shampoos from one particular company brand, and conditioner from another. Styling products as well are all different; I recommend various styling products from mouse to gel to styling pomades depending on the style and your desired end result.
Hair is very individual, it is all different, no two heads are ever the same, and hair never stays the same in its condition or texture.

Therefore it is necessary to have your hair evaluated every few months and you would need to change your products accordingly.
I have heard people including stylists say, to switch shampoos because your hair “gets used to a product” and it no longer works as well as it once did.

Well the reason is that it hasn’t become used to it that it no longer works, it is because of environmental, chemical changes and often hormonal and aging.

I am providing this service free of charge along with a bonus of complimentary hairstyle recommendation for your hair texture, as well as for suitability if you send me a good head shot!

I will let you know what would suit you, and (hopefully) your stylist will be able to give you this style that suits you, your face shape, lifestyle, hair texture and maintenance regime.
